The Austin Project is a new church being started in East-Central Austin. Our goal is to gather a launch team through the Summer and Fall of 2026 and begin weekly public worship in 2027. We are part of the Reach South Texas Church Planting Network, committed to seeing healthy gospel-shaped churches started across South Texas.

Vision
Our vision is to see the fullness of the gospel come to East-Central Austin, being a community of God’s love through which we hear the good news of the Christian gospel, are converted, formed together as a community of word and deed ministry, and live outward-facing lives in biblical mercy, justice, integrity, and love. We believe the Bible is God’s Word and instructs us in all things and provides for us a hopeful vision for all of life. We believe the gospel is the key to renewal in every area of our lives and compels us to become agents of Gospel renewal in the world.
Danny Morgan | Church Planter
Danny has served in ministry since 2012 and has been pastoring since 2018. He is a graduate of Christ College at Concordia University Irvine and Fuller Theological Seminary. Danny and Jaicee have three young children together and have been married since 2016. Danny has served Redeemer Presbyterian in Austin as an Associate Pastor since 2022 and is now planting a new church in East Central Austin.

No. Eventually, we will choose a permanent name that fits our project's vision.
Are you meeting for church on Sundays?
We are not yet meeting regularly for public worship services. We are currently assembling a launch team through the Summer and Fall of 2026. We hope to begin worship gatherings in early 2027.
We currently meet every Sunday at 4 PM for gatherings and prayer walks, or at 5 PM for community dinners. See our calendar and subscribe to our email list for details.
What are your gatherings and dinners like?
Our gatherings are a short teaching on the most central aspects of our church’s beliefs from the Bible, including a time for questions and answers for anyone who wants to push back on what has been taught or ask a question they’ve been wrestling with about their faith or Christianity.
Our dinners are an unstructured time to have a meal and meet new people, building connections and relationships with what we hope will become the church’s launch team. Anyone is welcome to join any of our events!
Do you have a location?
We are currently meeting in homes on the East Side, mostly in the Rosewood and Mueller neighborhoods. Our goal is to begin renting a worship space on the East Side for preview services this Fall.

Our target location is East-Central Austin.
Who is this for?
Any Christian church should be for believers and non-believers. We believe that whether you are a Christian, a skeptic, seeking, or unconvinced, our inherited beliefs or doubts should be examined and honestly assessed. Therefore, we are a church for anyone who is honestly willing to examine their objections, wrestle with their questions, and explore Christian faith. We believe Christianity provides the resources to answer our most ardent objections and satisfy our deepest longings.

We are a part of the Presbyterian Church in America and the Reach South Texas Church Planting Network.
Statement of Faith
The Austin Projects’ beliefs are summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith, and its Larger and Shorter Catechisms. These 17th-century historic documents have been the most fully adopted statement of faith by Presbyterians around the world. As part of the historic Christian Church, we also believe the three ecumenical creeds, The Apostles Creed, The Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed, are faithful summations of Christian doctrine held by Bible-believing Christians for nearly 2,000 years. While Scripture alone is God’s infallible Word, these summative documents are held by our denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America, as faithful statements of Christian theology.
